CUSD 50 Staff Spotlight: Amy Meza, Business Education Teacher at Harvard High School

"I was born and raised in Harvard and completed all of my K-12 schooling through the Harvard School District."

"I was inspired to become a business teacher, by two of my former Harvard High School Business Teachers, Mrs. Eisele & Mrs. Grimm. As a senior I was kind of stuck on what I wanted to do after high school. Growing up, I always liked the idea of becoming a teacher, but I was never quite sure at what level or subject. In high school, I really enjoyed all of my business classes, particularly Computer Applications and Accounting. I didn’t realize I could combine my desire to teach with my interest in business until Mrs. Eisele suggested it!"

"I love that I have the opportunity to inspire and impact students' future career choices. I love getting to know the students and building relationships with them. I love the classes that I teach because there is so much real-world application to the content, and they provide tangible knowledge and skills that students can take directly into their personal lives as well as future careers and/or college studies."

"We’re small but mighty. We face a lot of challenges, but we have dedicated teachers, leaders, and staff who work hard every day to do the best for our students and provide high quality educational opportunities."

"Positivity breeds positivity. If you want your environment to be more positive, it starts with you."
