Harvard Community Unit School District 50 Welcomes Justin Leibach as Director of Safety & Security
Harvard Community Unit School District 50 is pleased to announce the hiring of Justin Leibach as the new Director of Safety. With a distinguished background in public safety, Mr. Leibach brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to fostering a secure and supportive environment for the district's students, staff, and families.
Mr. Leibach’s career spans service with the McHenry City Police Department and the McHenry Township Fire Protection District, where he worked as a dispatcher and as a firefighter/EMT. His diverse experiences in law enforcement, emergency response, and public safety operations uniquely position him to enhance the safety infrastructure within District 50 and support the district's commitment to the safety of all in our community.
In addition to his hands-on experience, Mr. Leibach holds an associate degree from McHenry County College and a multitude of certifications, licenses, and memberships that further reflect his expertise and dedication to public safety.
The district welcomes Mr. Leibach’s expertise and commitment to safety as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure a secure and thriving environment for all.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Mr. Leibach said "I'm enthusiastic to join Harvard School District 50 as the Director of Safety and Security, bringing my experience and education in emergency management and disaster preparedness to enhance our school safety measures. I look forward to collaborating with emergency responders and other school districts to modernize our safety and emergency operation plans, implement innovative protocols, and leverage technology.
