Our STAR group (Superintendents' Team for Advisory & Representation) has been hard at work curating our Harvard CUSD 50 Portrait of an Educator and we are excited to finally unveil it!
Students from our STAR group have met over the span of three meetings this school year to work on projects to recognize students and educators in the district. Their most recent project being our Portrait of an Educator.
This graphic is meant to be the most outstanding representation of what their favorite and most effective educators exemplified at school everyday. Through insightful discussions and debates from our STAR group and a deep dive into what makes our educators exceptional, they crafted a portrait that truly captures the heart and soul of an educator in CUSD 50. All six of the descriptor words on our Portrait of an Educator were crafted and chosen by our students and then presented at our most recent Board Meeting! Those words being; Caring, Adaptable, Respectful, Enthusiastic, Captivating, and Approachable.
This portrait will now be a tool for us to use in hiring, professional development, and in our classes everyday to remind ourselves what kind of educators we strive to be and our amazing students deserve here in CUSD 50!
