HHS Students Named Illinois State Scholars
Eleven senior students from Harvard High School have been named as finalists for the Illinois State Scholar program.
Each year, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) names the top students at each high school state-wide. Students are selected based upon a combination of their SAT or ACT score, class rank at the end of junior year, and their academic performance.
“To become a state scholar during a regular year is challenging,” said Carl Hobbs, Harvard High School Principal. “The effort, dedication, and perseverance these students have shown this year are truly commendable."
The ISAC is the state’s central provider of college aid. Therefore, being named to the State Scholar list is an honor and will help students with college admission and scholarship opportunities. Only the top ten percent of seniors from the nearly 800 high schools in Illinois qualified for this distinction.
Each of these students has gone above and beyond in their academic careers. We are proud to commend the following students:
Emma Ackland
Melany Avila Castro
Bryce Fiegel
Jaqueline Gonzalez
Kerrigan Kotecki
Alexis Lehmann
Sadie Mayer
Joelle McMillan
Travis Melson
Nora Navabernal
Norma Rojas Nava
Congratulations to the honorees from Harvard High School! May your futures continue to be bright!
