Like much of the state and county, Harvard currently has an incredibly high COVID-19 transmission rate. Throughout the last two days, we have been in contact with numerous families and staff members who tested positive, became symptomatic, or were close contacts to a positive case over break.
Winter Break will be extended two more days, through Friday, January 7, with no academic responsibilities on these days. Two additional days will be added to this school year’s calendar to make up for the lost instructional time.
Athletics will continue as scheduled this week.
Classes will resume in person on Monday, January 10. We are planning for in-person instruction at this time.
The decision to disrupt our academic calendar, while unfortunate, is necessary. We are dealing with a record-breaking spread of COVID in our area, making this decision unavoidable. Hopefully, these additional days will help our staff safely return to what they do well – educate and care for our students.
