The third-grade students of Ms. Woodman and Ms. Pinilla have had a fantastic time in Science during their unit on Weather and Climate! They had a blast creating tornadoes in bottles, learning about engineering, and solving challenges with limited materials. One of the highlights was planning, designing, and building a solution to prevent flooding in New Orleans caused by Hurricane Katrina. It’s been an exciting and educational experience for all of them! ¡Los alumnos de tercer grado de Ms. Woodman y Ms. Pinilla han tenido un gran tiempo en Ciencias durante su unidad sobre Tiempo y Clima! Se divirtieron mucho creando tornados en botellas, aprendiendo sobre ingeniería y resolviendo desafíos con pocos materiales. Uno de los momentos más destacados fue planificar, diseñar y construir una solución para prevenir la inundación en la ciudad de Nueva Orleans causada por el huracán Katrina. ¡Ha sido una experiencia emocionante y educativa para todos ellos!

STARS students in Ms. Serrano's class, read two stories from Unique Learning System, "All Around the Sun" and "African Safari". Students completed adaptive reading and writing activities while using their communication devices to answer comprehension questions. Students also completed worksheets matching the planets! It was a fun filled week :)
