CUSD 50 Staff Spotlight: Courtney Behm, Dual Language Kindergarten Teacher at Crosby Elementary School
"My Spanish teachers in high school each coached me in cheerleading and track. I loved how much of a positive impact they made on my educational experience and wanted to be that inspiration for students. I have been teaching for 9 years and this is my 3rd year in CUSD 50. It is also my 3rd year as the head cheerleading coach for HHS. I remember during my time in undergrad I told one of my peers I wanted to someday teach dual language and coach high school cheerleading. Dreams really do come true!"
"I love the positive influence and relationships you build being an educator. My favorite thing to say about my job is that it is never boring. Each and every day is an adventure. I get to see my growth my students make and the excitement they feel when they learn something new! It is so exciting!"
"I am from a small town and love the small town feel. In a small district, you get to know everyone! I am so blessed to be a part of Crosby and the CUSD50 district. It truly feels like my second family. The people that I have met and had the opportunity to collaborate with in the district have been incredible."
"Reach for the stars and never settle. This can apply to the workplace as well as our lives. Setting positive goals and always wanting to improve keeps us motivated. Be that positive role model that inspires others! Happiness is a mindset and makes the journey so much more meaningful!"
