Harvard Community Unit School District 50 is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Mecklenburg as the new District Wellness Coordinator. With an extensive background in education and a passion for promoting health and wellness, Mr. Mecklenburg is well-positioned to lead initiatives that prioritize the well-being of students, staff, and the entire school community.

Mr. Mecklenburg brings over 30 years of experience in education, including roles as a Physical Education Teacher at Woodstock 200 for three decades, Assistant Athletic Director at Woodstock High School for seven years, Curriculum Area Specialist for 10 years, and Grant Coordinator for three years. His academic credentials include a BA from UIC, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University, and a Master’s in Administration from Aurora University.

Superintendent Dr. Corey Tafoya expressed excitement about Mr. Mecklenburg's appointment, stating, "One of the primary focuses of our District is the health and happiness of our staff and students. It’s hard to imagine anyone who could be a more positive influence to all of these people in D50 than what Mr. Mecklenburg will do in Harvard. His decades of experience in this area perfectly fit this new position. I’m thrilled to work with him and reinforce the importance of wellness for all Hornets."

Mr. Mecklenburg also shared his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I’m super excited to bring my passion for education and student success to the wonderful community of Harvard. I look forward to working closely with the community, parents, students, staff, and administrators this fall. Exciting things are on the horizon, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be part of #HarvardRising!"
